Suffocate was the first song written by LABOR XII. Ross Hamil (lead vocals and rhythm guitar) does work with a non-profit and, at the time Suffocate was written, they were supporting a young lady who was battling for her life against a terminal illness. Suffocate is about the internal battle one faces against life threatening diseases and is intended to be a battle cry against the disease.
